In extreme cases where an attack exceeds scrubbing capacity and threatens network stability, we may temporarily null-route (blackhole) the targeted IP. This is a last resort. We'll notify you immediately and restore the IP as soon as the attack subsides.

How do I protect my server from brute-force attacks?

We strongly recommend: (1) disabling password-based SSH and using SSH keys, (2) installing fail2ban to auto-ban attacking IPs, (3) enabling UFW to restrict access to only necessary ports, and (4) changing the SSH port from the default 22.
